Central Missouri Youth Hockey Association

Eagles Hockey Mission Statement

The Central Missouri Eagles are co-sponsored with the Jefferson City Parks and Recreation Department. The Eagles seek to provide athletic competition in a safe, wholesome environment with coaches and parents dedicated to sportsmanship and fair play. The Eagles strive to assure all players meaningful opportunity to participate in each practice session and game.

The Eagles serve the players, their families and the community. Players are best served when parents and coaches recognize that their physical and emotional well-being is paramount, and that winning is a worthwhile achievement only when sportsmanship and fair play prevail. Families are best served when they are encouraged to experience the rewards of participating in athletics with their children. The community is best served when the Eagles graduate young citizens enriched by meaningful participation in a disciplined team sport, long after the outcomes of distant games have faded from memory.

1) Players will not use alcohol, tobacco products or unlawful drugs.

2) Players will conduct themselves responsibly and obey the Washington Park Ice Arena's Rules and Regulations whenever they are in or around the Ice Arena, whether at hockey practice or games, at public skating sessions, or for any other reason. Players will also conduct themselves responsibly while traveling to and from road games and while participating in these games.

3) Players will not engage in fighting, deliberate attempts to injure, abuse of officials, or other unsportsmanlike conduct detrimental to the mission of the Central Missouri Youth Hockey Association.

5) Players will wear full equipment mandated by USA Hockey whenever they are on the ice during practice sessions and games. "Full equipment" includes a helmet with approved cage and a mouth guard. The helmet must be secured by the chin straps. In accordance with USA Hockey regulations, the mouth guard must be colored and worn inside the mouth. Players will not wear any jewelry during practices or games.

6) After practice sessions and games at the Washington Park Ice Arena and after road games, players will leave the locker room area in a clean condition, free of tape and other refuse.

7) Players will not travel to or from road games except in vehicles driven by their parent or guardian, another player's parent or guardian, or another adult approved by the coaching staff in advance.
